Our Story

NOA Clothing is a brand influenced by cultures from all around the world, conscious of the very serious issue of climate change and steadfast on the path towards sustainable practices. Our garments are designed with intention of creating looks that are distinctive and current in their styling, yet timeless.
Back in 2014, whilst in the throes of running her successful, eponymous womenswear label (during the high point of the fast fashion revolution), our founder Christine, came up with the idea of starting a slow fashion label. It had become increasingly clear after she became a mother to her two girls, that her industry was part of the problem and wanted to create a product with more heart, soul and longevity. One that was inspired by the experiences of her family – their influences in art, theatre, books and particularly music; as well as her own formative education and training in fashion.
The name – NOA, was initially an acronym for the names of her two daughters (Nea &Anouk) and their first dog, Ollie. But over the course of designing the brand the circular form of the letter ‘O’ eventually evolved into the bubble which is also now the logo of the brand and stands for the world that inspires her work. The lives of the family - their loves, their day to day shenanigans - THEIR BUBBLE.
And thus NOA Clothing was born.
NOA Clothing designs clothes keeping in mind both comfort, as well as style, all the while making sure that kids can move and play freely while wearing them. We do not work by the season but design a unique limited series, based on our  influences at the time & bearing in mind that the silhouettes need to be both high on comfort and high on fashion! All the while making sure that our practices and the contents of our garments support local Indian craftsmen and weavers in an effort to complement the revival of their industry which has been crumbling under the weight of fast fashion demands.
We hope that our NOA pieces would be worn and handed down to siblings or treasured as life long mementos much like the christening outfits our founder's parents handed down to her from their parents, or the corduroy pinafores she wore as a child and went on to dress her own kids in when they were toddlers.
Every garment has a story to tell and a long life to live if preserved carefully.
And this is what we hope to inculcate in our customers when they buy a NOA original.
Make our story a part of your story.
That is the NOA way.
